Born in the Angahuan community, started to get involved in the cooking and crafts world and since childhood, as those are the daily activities in the region.

Representative of the women cooks from Michoacán when the region’s gastronomy was granted the distinction of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.​

JUANA BRAVO LÁZARO

ROSALBA MORALES BARTOLO

Born and raised in San Jerónimo Purenchécuaro, Michoacán, grew up cooking alongside her mother in their indigenous Purépecha kitchen. Purépecha women are well known for their regional cuisine and extraordinary cooking abilities. Rosalba, who learned recipes and techniques beginning in her early childhood, has become one of the most exemplary cooks living in Mexico.
